Cyclox to host "Cycling for the Climate" meeting in November 2007

CTC & CCN annual national conference

Fri 16 Nov 2007, all day from 10.30: meeting aimed for participation with Council Transport officers, including site visit to Cowley Road Scheme. All members welcome. Venue: tba

Sat 17 Nov 2007, all day from 10.30: meeting with national speakers and experts themed on the contribution that cycling can make to climate change: aimed for participation by members of Cyclox, CTC and CCN. Venue: Cheney School.

£30,000 on cycle safety measures in East Oxford

Oxfordshire County Council has about £32,000 to spend along Iffley Road.

The chairman of Oxford cycling pressure group Cyclox, James Styring, who lives in East Oxford, said: "A lot of people complain about Iffley road because of the cars being parked and them having to wiggle in and out, which can be quite dangerous. I'm sure a treatment like that which currently exists in Cowley Road would be very helpful. ..." more
